Fort Wayne Street Tree Program

The City of Fort Wayne's Street Tree Program is re-opening April 1, 2010. If requested, the City will plant an 8-14 foot shade tree in the City Right-of-Way in your front yard (between the sidewalk and the street, or within 5 feet of the street). Depending on the frontage available, up to two trees could probably be planted. The list of trees that can be planted will not be available until March, but we need to know how many residences want to participate in this program. We were told Community group applications would be easier and faster to process with their first come-first served process - with planting to be done in the Fall. Trees cannot be planted within 40 feet of a street intersection, or within 15 feet of a driveway, 10 feet of a street light fire hydrant or traffic sign. If you are interested in this program, please complete and return the Tree Program Acceptance Form.

   SR 3 Construction Information

You may or may not be aware, but the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is about to begin a major road construction project on State Road 3 (Lima Rd.). While these things seem to drag on for what seems like eternity, this improvement will certainly benefit Hearthstone residents, as well as tens of thousands of others who commute through this area. Please use extra caution in these work zones, and give yourself extra time reach your destination. You may check on the progress of this project and any regular updates on INDOT's website. www.in.gov/indot/div/projects/sr3/limaroad

Get your Hearthstone today!

As you may have noticed, there is a portal for e-mail on the opening page when you logged in. Hearthstone residents can sign up now for your very own Hearthstone Community e-mail address. Due to limitations, we are only able to offer one account per household at this time. Therefore, you must include your desired name (joe_smith@hearthstonevillagecommunityassociation.com), and address when making your requests. Advantages to having your own Hearthstone e-mail address include up to the minute association alerts, changes to events due to weather, and other urgent content. There has been discussion that we may distribute newsletters directly to residents by means of e-mail in the future, if enough residents show interest. Submit all requests to Webmaster@hearthstonevillagecommunityassociation.com and get yours today!
